PEACE SCHOLARS

Inspiring & engaging students to become full participants in peacemaking efforts around the world.

The Oslo International Summer School

As a requirement of the Peace Scholars program, students must enroll to take one additional class through the Oslo International Summer School. In addition, scholars will be housed alongside other ISS while staying at Rønningen Folkehøgskole.

Founded in 1948, the Oslo International Summer School is a yearly summer academic program dedicated to bringing together students from all over the world in the spirit of international cooperation and passionate learning. Each year, around 500 students from across the globe gather in Oslo to pursue their interests in politics, sociology, culture, language, and many other topics. The school welcomes students of all ages pursuing both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, offering rigorous classroom instruction along with a variety of cultural and social activities and excursions. Attendance at the ISS complements the cosmopolitan yet distinctly Norwegian perspectives that define the Peace Scholars program.
